This Morakniv blade is made from Triflex steel which is harder and more durable than Sandvik stainless steel. It can handle rougher treatment without the risk of breaking the blade. This modified carbon steel is best described as a material between laminated steel and plain carbon steel hardened to HRC 59-60 with a softer surface that improves the tensile strength considerably.
